My first time at Vogue Knitting Live NYC was last weekend…such a great experience! With all the changes in events due to the pandemic, I get hesitant about virtual events that are so based in a human experience – the reason I enjoy my knitting and weaving community. However, the more intimate lectures and workshops presented just that. The teachers came inspired and excited to support, educate and supply resources to us.
Vendors such as Handspun Hope inspired so many with their mission driven business model that is building skill, careers and community to women in Rwanda and their families. The organic cotton handspun in Ethiopia and hand dyed in Rwanda. The women are paid full time salaries, health care and more. Take a listen to their mission and knit for good.
